HEN-SPLAINING THE STORY...General Dick was a proud rooster with the posture of a knight and the manners of an old-world gentleman. He greeted every hen with a courteous nod, never crowed with his mouth full, and insisted on escorting everyone to the feeder—because chivalry, he believed, should never go out of style. When foxes or hawks came prowling, he stood his ground like a feathered hero, saving lives with courage far bigger than his comb.
